Healesville: Tanglefoot Track Walk

A varied walk traversing magnificent rainforest gullies with ferns and very old myrtle beech trees and towering mountain ash. 

GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Moderate 10 km circuit walk. There are some ascents and descents, and the tracks could be muddy and slippery.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: We'll meet up at the Healesville Bakery Healesville, so you can have a beverage, and/or snack before and after the walk if you wish. 

The Tanglefoot Track runs through huge stands of mountain ash and manna gums, interspersed with beautiful fern gullies. We’ll also take in the Wirrawilla rainforest boardwalk, which takes about 20 minutes to explore the rainforest area and read the excellent interpretative signs.

MEETING TIME | LOCATION: 9:30am at the Beechworth Bakery Healesville, 316 Maroondah Highway, Healesville.

DISTANCE | TIME FROM GPO: 70 km, approximately 1 hour 20 minutes via M3 (Eastern Freeway) and B360 (Maroondah Highway).

FOOD: Carry lunch, snacks and a litre of water.

APPAREL | FOOTWEAR: Comfortable walking boots and dress according to the weather forecast. Tracks could be muddy and slippery.
